Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our large-scale civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy civil construction, strong project management skills, and a background in logistics. As a Heavy Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget and on time, while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and manage all phases of civil construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation- Oversee project logistics, including procurement of materials and equipment- Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and team members- Ensure project compliance with safety and environmental regulations- Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and adjust as needed- Manage project budgets, including cost estimating, forecasting, and controlling expenses- Identify and mitigate project risks, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise- Oversee quality control processes to ensure project meets or exceeds specifications- Utilize project management software and tools to track project progress and communicate updates to relevant parties
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a project management role
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
- Experience with estimating, budgeting, and cost control for large-scale projects- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Extensive knowledge of highway construction processes and standards
- Ability to interpret and understand construction plans and specifications
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
